WHAT'S NEXT?

The marriage is dead
There's nothing left
Bitterness and hurt
Are guilty of theft
...Roommates...
Though sharing a bed
No sex for months
The desire is dead
Men are visual
That much is true
But I don't get aroused
When I look at you
Parading around
In sexy lingerie
Used to fill my head
With thoughts of foreplay
But not anymore
That's all in the past
A "marriage" like this
Surely won't last
You stay out late
I really don't care
Are you working late
Or having an affair
No concern of mine
I could really care less
You're nothing to me
But disappointment and stress
...Forgive me Lord...
This just isn't right
I know I'm wrong
But too tired to fight
...Bitterness...
Has stolen my drive
So the marriage is dead
No longer alive
I've given up
The opposite of bliss
Totally focused
On the things I miss
Holding hands
The thrill of romance
No music needed
For a private dance
Buying you gifts
Candy and flowers
Looking in your eyes
Talking for hours
...Those days are gone...
Should you be too
I'll wait on God
To tell me what to do

PROOF POSITIVE

Your wife won't cheat
That's not your concern
But why is your manhood
Starting to burn
She's wrapped around
Your little finger
But that burning sensation
Continues to linger
But you're convinced
She'd never cheat
Always described
As innocent and sweet
Active in church
She's on the PTA
Never raises her voice
Instead chooses to pray
You didn't see it
But now realize
The woman you married
Wears a disguise
She meets your needs
After sex you're tired
But there's another man
Keeping her inspired
Sleeping with you
But thinking of him
This affair isn't something
She conceived on a whim
You neglected her
Year after year
Now you're confronted
With your greatest fear
She's in check
Or so you thought
You found the receipts
For the items she bought
Sexy lingerie
A few sex toys
Hotel stays
You were out with the boys
So many receipts
Tucked away in a shoe
A bank statement proves
She's keeping cash from you
Her own account
She leads a double life
He calls her "lover"
You call her "wife"
You feel so stupid
Never picked up on clues
But here's the proof
Hidden in her shoes
Who would've guessed
She has so many pairs
But these special shoes
Are ones she never wears
That being said
The truth is now out
Your wife is cheating
There is no doubt
You stand in shock
Thinking this can't be
But you have the receipts
...And your STD

SATAN'S GIFTS

Satan is very crafty
He knows just what to do
Find your deepest desires
And present them to you
Most search for love
So he finds you a mate
Casual conversation
Soon leads to a date
Blinded by "love"
You quickly fall into sin
Compromise after compromise
Satan scores another win
It's not just the Singles
It affects the Married's too
When "for better or for worse"
Takes its toll on you
Teenagers as well
That curious generation
Schools are fertile ground
Saturated with temptation
Everyone seeks love
But is that what they find
It's just smoke and mirrors
It's just Satan being kind
It's just one of his gifts
Wrapped especially for you
Only God offers love
That's completely tried and true
Do you desire success
Or is it the love of money
It's just another diversion
That Satan thinks is funny
Whatever you desire
Satan can surely provide
But it won't be love
You'll be blinded by pride
In Luke chapter four
Verses five through seven
Satan tries to make a deal
To keep Jesus from Heaven
He offered Jesus the world
The very thing He came to save
But He would have to bow down
And become Satan's slave
But Jesus was wise
He was fasting to prepare
He declined the gift
Leaving Satan in despair
But will we be ready
When the gifts are presented
If we haven't been
It's time we repented

KILLING ME...SOFTLY

The love we shared
Has been replaced
It didn't survive
The issues we faced
Problems surfaced
As problems do
My faith was in God
Yours was in you
Unequally yoked
No unified prayers
My eyes on God
Yours on blank stares
I tried to be strong
The years took their toll
Now I question
The fate of my soul
It's hard to fight
Am I giving up too
Will I lose God
The way I've lost you
We drifted apart
One issue at a time
Your faith was stolen
Satan's ultimate crime
I was disappointed
Then anger set in
Now I'm bitter
Will Satan win
The passion is dead
So is intimacy
You may be breathing
But you're dead to me
My heart is hard
I can't even cry
I spend every day
Watching my faith die
Little by little
It chips away
From the things you do
To the things you say
What about the kids
They're hurting too
Despite your condition
They believe in you
I did once too
Now all may be lost
When a marriage fails
Kids pay the cost
Innocent victims
Who don't understand
Are they to believe
This is what God planned
What about their faith
Will the scars heal
Do you care what they think
Do you care how they feel
If it weren't for them
I'd have left long ago
I'm sure deep inside
That's something they know
They're not blind
And it's really hard to miss
Mom and Dad don't hug
Mom and Dad don't kiss
They don't hold hands
Or go out on dates
A family of five
But only four dinner plates
They see it all
They know it's wrong
For us to allow things
To go on this long
They see your sin
But they see mine too
The marriage can't work
If I keep blaming you
We're both at fault
And need to change
Without faith in God
You may think this strange
But lean on me
To avert Satan's theft
My faith is weak
But I have a mustard seed left

THE DEED (part III)

So he confessed
His wife's distraught
She can't focus
On what the Bible taught
God expects her
To forget and forgive
But she's so angry
She doesn't want him to live
Does she have AIDS
Or an STD
He's been sleeping with her
And sleeping with me
I want him dead
No...crucified
He should suffer the way
Our Savior died
Even that's too good
He should be shot then hung
Buried alive
In a pile of dung
How could he be
As selfish as this
Our lives now ruined
For a night of bliss
Am I to blame
Did I say NO too much
Pushing him away
When he tried to touch
I was too tired
Or the mood wasn't right
He'd whine and complain
And choose the couch at night
NO...he's the blame
He lacked self-control
Unsure of his salvation
Or the condition of his soul
And oh, the children
They treat him like a king
Should I conceal his sin
Or tell them everything
Dear Lord, please help me
I don't know what to do
He cheated on me
And was unfaithful to you

THE DEED – (part II)

So you cheated
Now you're not sure
Did you contract a disease
For which there is no cure
Should you call your doctor
Should you tell your spouse
Do you want to risk
Being kicked out of the house
The disappointment
Of family and friends
What about the kids
The pain never ends
It's all your fault
You are to blame
You did the deed
You wear the shame
You should confess
And do what's right
What's done in the dark
Is revealed in the light
God has a way
Of exposing sin
He'll reveal the truth
So Satan can't win
You have a choice
You could be silent
When it's revealed
Will she be violent
She probably will
If she has a disease
Prepare yourself
For stiff legal fees
Years of trust
Destroyed in a day
Your wife in tears
What will you say
There are no words
To take away her pain
You have no excuse
You’re completely sane
One night of passion
Ruins many lives
Temptation and deceit
Is where Satan thrives
Confess the deed
Let the pain begin
Be as bold as you were
When you committed the sin
Temptation is out there
It will come to us all
What if your wife
Had taken the fall
Don’t be naïve
Women get approached too
But they have more control
Then most men do
It could be her
Confessing her deeds
Complaining that you
Don’t fulfill her needs
It works both ways
So please beware
Say NO to temptation
Avoid the affair

Cornelius

THE DEED (part 1) – (The co-worker)

You're an easy target
Because women know
You've been married for a while
So you're starting to grow
Apart that is
From your busy spouse
There's no love-making
Going on at your house
Occasional sex
But the passion is dying
So she can have you
Without really trying
Shorter skirts
Tighter blouse
A combination
Sure to arouse
Her perfume
Excites your nose
Day after day
Your desire grows
You're unaware
She's setting a trap
Her ultimate prize
In the midst of your lap
She wants sex
Especially from you
Devoted husband
And a Christian too
You love your kids
You're active in church
She's found you
She can end her search
Yeah you're married
But she can fix that
With her bedroom eyes
And a focused chat
After work
You'll meet for a drink
Call your wife
What would she think
Of course you don't
You go on the date
You tell your wife
That you're working late
She has you now
You're in too deep
A room is rented
But not for sleep
You do the deed
Then guilt sets in
Are you going to Hell
For this horrible sin
Should you confess
Should you tell your wife
The sex was good
But it ruined your life
All of these thoughts
Run through your head
As you sit naked
At the edge of the bed
She caresses you
She knows your thought
She gives you advice
On how not to get caught
Now you get it
As you stare at the floor
She's a professional
She's done this before
How many men
Has she done this to
You're not a "player"
She played you
