KILLING ME...SOFTLY

The love we shared
Has been replaced
It didn't survive
The issues we faced
Problems surfaced
As problems do
My faith was in God
Yours was in you
Unequally yoked
No unified prayers
My eyes on God
Yours on blank stares
I tried to be strong
The years took their toll
Now I question
The fate of my soul
It's hard to fight
Am I giving up too
Will I lose God
The way I've lost you
We drifted apart
One issue at a time
Your faith was stolen
Satan's ultimate crime
I was disappointed
Then anger set in
Now I'm bitter
Will Satan win
The passion is dead
So is intimacy
You may be breathing
But you're dead to me
My heart is hard
I can't even cry
I spend every day
Watching my faith die
Little by little
It chips away
From the things you do
To the things you say
What about the kids
They're hurting too
Despite your condition
They believe in you
I did once too
Now all may be lost
When a marriage fails
Kids pay the cost
Innocent victims
Who don't understand
Are they to believe
This is what God planned
What about their faith
Will the scars heal
Do you care what they think
Do you care how they feel
If it weren't for them
I'd have left long ago
I'm sure deep inside
That's something they know
They're not blind
And it's really hard to miss
Mom and Dad don't hug
Mom and Dad don't kiss
They don't hold hands
Or go out on dates
A family of five
But only four dinner plates
They see it all
They know it's wrong
For us to allow things
To go on this long
They see your sin
But they see mine too
The marriage can't work
If I keep blaming you
We're both at fault
And need to change
Without faith in God
You may think this strange
But lean on me
To avert Satan's theft
My faith is weak
But I have a mustard seed left

THE DEED (part III)

So he confessed
His wife's distraught
She can't focus
On what the Bible taught
God expects her
To forget and forgive
But she's so angry
She doesn't want him to live
Does she have AIDS
Or an STD
He's been sleeping with her
And sleeping with me
I want him dead
No...crucified
He should suffer the way
Our Savior died
Even that's too good
He should be shot then hung
Buried alive
In a pile of dung
How could he be
As selfish as this
Our lives now ruined
For a night of bliss
Am I to blame
Did I say NO too much
Pushing him away
When he tried to touch
I was too tired
Or the mood wasn't right
He'd whine and complain
And choose the couch at night
NO...he's the blame
He lacked self-control
Unsure of his salvation
Or the condition of his soul
And oh, the children
They treat him like a king
Should I conceal his sin
Or tell them everything
Dear Lord, please help me
I don't know what to do
He cheated on me
And was unfaithful to you

THE DEED – (part II)

So you cheated
Now you're not sure
Did you contract a disease
For which there is no cure
Should you call your doctor
Should you tell your spouse
Do you want to risk
Being kicked out of the house
The disappointment
Of family and friends
What about the kids
The pain never ends
It's all your fault
You are to blame
You did the deed
You wear the shame
You should confess
And do what's right
What's done in the dark
Is revealed in the light
God has a way
Of exposing sin
He'll reveal the truth
So Satan can't win
You have a choice
You could be silent
When it's revealed
Will she be violent
She probably will
If she has a disease
Prepare yourself
For stiff legal fees
Years of trust
Destroyed in a day
Your wife in tears
What will you say
There are no words
To take away her pain
You have no excuse
You’re completely sane
One night of passion
Ruins many lives
Temptation and deceit
Is where Satan thrives
Confess the deed
Let the pain begin
Be as bold as you were
When you committed the sin
Temptation is out there
It will come to us all
What if your wife
Had taken the fall
Don’t be naïve
Women get approached too
But they have more control
Then most men do
It could be her
Confessing her deeds
Complaining that you
Don’t fulfill her needs
It works both ways
So please beware
Say NO to temptation
Avoid the affair

Cornelius

THE DEED (part 1) – (The co-worker)

You're an easy target
Because women know
You've been married for a while
So you're starting to grow
Apart that is
From your busy spouse
There's no love-making
Going on at your house
Occasional sex
But the passion is dying
So she can have you
Without really trying
Shorter skirts
Tighter blouse
A combination
Sure to arouse
Her perfume
Excites your nose
Day after day
Your desire grows
You're unaware
She's setting a trap
Her ultimate prize
In the midst of your lap
She wants sex
Especially from you
Devoted husband
And a Christian too
You love your kids
You're active in church
She's found you
She can end her search
Yeah you're married
But she can fix that
With her bedroom eyes
And a focused chat
After work
You'll meet for a drink
Call your wife
What would she think
Of course you don't
You go on the date
You tell your wife
That you're working late
She has you now
You're in too deep
A room is rented
But not for sleep
You do the deed
Then guilt sets in
Are you going to Hell
For this horrible sin
Should you confess
Should you tell your wife
The sex was good
But it ruined your life
All of these thoughts
Run through your head
As you sit naked
At the edge of the bed
She caresses you
She knows your thought
She gives you advice
On how not to get caught
Now you get it
As you stare at the floor
She's a professional
She's done this before
How many men
Has she done this to
You're not a "player"
She played you

YOUR QUEEN

Greet her in the morning
With a tender kiss
When parting ways
Say it's her you'll miss
Breakfast in bed
Will make her smile
After she's dressed
Say you like her style
If she has a job
Call or send an email
“How's your day going?”
Listen to every detail
When her day is done
Give her time to unwind
Draw a bath for her
To relax her mind
If the day's been tough
And she needs to vent
Give your full attention
Regardless of time spent
Don't try to “fix” her
She's just letting off steam
She talks...you listen
What a great team
But after she's done
If she asks for advice
Give it to her gently
Just once will suffice
Take her out on dates
Dinner and a movie too
Make her feel special
She'll appreciate you
Flowers, cards and candy
Not just on Valentine's Day
Before making love
Start off with foreplay
But if she'd rather not
Then do whatever she enjoys
From full body massages
To exotic sex toys
Treat her like a queen
Always be faithful and true
And whether things are good or bad
She'll be standing right beside you!

GREENER GRASS

The grass always looks greener
When it's on the other side
But things quickly change
When you discover they've lied
That's not her real hair
The car he drives is a rental
He has how many kids
She's really not that gentle
They're both steeped in debt
But truly try to deceive
They've told so many lies
You don't know what to believe
Who am I referring to
The person you once dated
But if you married them
It gets complicated
Most marriages fail
Because they start with a lie
If they were to tell the truth
You might just pass them by
So they fabricate a life
In order to catch your eye
You're blinded by "love"
So you believe the lie
It really doesn't matter
Because you were lieing too
After all you wanted them
To be attracted to you
So now here you are
The truth has come to light
The cat is out of the bag
Should you run or stay and fight
You both need to stay
And change how you live
Despite the hurt and pain
God wants you to forgive
Consider this for a moment
As you look at your wedding ring
They wanted you so much
They were willing to do anything
Lieing is a sin
But being bitter is sinful too
But if you don't forgive them
God won't forgive you
But if you decide to leave
And find somebody new
They'll have their own set of issues
And you'll have to forgive them too

Cornelius

TWO SIDES

He lied to you
Now you're mad
He's the worst lover
You ever had
Talked a good game
But can't produce
And now you hear
Every excuse
He's just tired
He needs his rest
Early in the morning
For him is best
You've heard it all
You're agitated
You shouldn't have married
You should have waited
But now you're stuck
And unsatisfied
He's a Christian
How could he have lied
That's the story
You tell your girls
But with his boys
His side unfurls
You're a cold fish
When you're in the sack
Barking orders
Lying still on your back
No new positions
You're not a slut
Don't kiss me there
Get your hands off my butt
Very frustrated
He's turned to porn
He knows it's wrong
But yet he's torn
He's very unhappy
The marriage is a wreck
You're not pleasing God
So he figures...what the heck
He's wasting his time
Trying to do what's right
It's a losing battle
He's given up the fight
...God's not pleased...
This can be resolved
Let God intervene
Before the marriage is dissolved
You both should repent
Stop bad-mouthing each other
Get spiritual advice
To become a better lover
It starts with humility
An open and honest chat
You need to work on this
She needs to work on that
You won't always agree
But it's a good place to start
Start and end with prayer
To let God soften your heart
The lies Satan tells
Are meant to hurt and consume
He does his greatest damage
When he enters your bedroom
Brothers be gentlemen
Take care of your wives first
Make sure she's satisfied
Before quenching your thirst
Sisters you're not sluts
For trying something new
The sluts are on the internet
And they wish they were you
Here's a little secret
That I must now reveal
When you're with your friends
You say how you really feel
If most of it's negative
Malicious or just mean
You must understand
That's exactly what God's seen
He knows what's in your heart
I know this may sound strange
But God may not intervene
Until you make a change
But aside from that point
How will your spouse be viewed
If all you tell your friends
Is that they're worthless and rude
Work on pleasing God
He'll take care of the rest
He is our Heavenly Father
And Father knows best

MALE ISSUES

You are the husband
You're supposed to lead
But yet you're selfish
When she's in need
It's another problem
We must address
Some sensitive issues
Most won't confess
But it's time to talk
Let's clear the air
There's a double standard
That's just not fair
You often complain
That she's gained weight
So you're ashamed
To take her on a date
Is it because
She's given birth
To the most precious beings
On God's green earth
Or is it because
She's a bit depressed
Being married to you
Has her feeling stressed
She's no super model
Or a woman leading cheers
But can you see your abs
Or are they filled with beers
So please don't complain
About what she might lack
When you're a couch potato
And not a Quarterback
With that being said
Let's discuss the bedroom
Let's address some questions
Which lead her to assume
Are you impotent
Naïve or depressed
Inexperienced
Or just plain stressed
All of these issues
Leave her frustrated
Her mind may wander
About others she dated
It's Satan's ploy
To make her want to cheat
Women are clever
They can be discreet
So brothers step up
And put your pride aside
Get the help you need
To take care of your bride
Are you too fast
When she wants it slow
You're making love
Not a sleazy porno
But if she does
Prefer it fast
...Pace yourself...
Make sure you can last
You'll reach your goal
You always do
Let her finish first
Then take care of you
It's called chivalry
And it's not dead
Let it guide your actions
In your marriage bed
The lady comes first
A good rule to follow
But don't pressure her
If she doesn't swallow
Yes, oral sex
Some think it's taboo
You perform it on her
But she won't do it to you
She has her reasons
Whatever they are
It's okay to ask
But don't take it too far
Was she hurt
By a jerk in her past
She's trying to heal
But you're moving too fast
It bothers her
No matter what it was
Just love her now
The way God does
She's pretty complex
There's much to explore
You're missing out
If you choose to ignore
What are her goals
What's her greatest fear
Actively listen
When holding her near
It's always good
To begin with romance
Before you start
To remove her pants
If she says no
The mood’s not right
Don't get angry
And pout all night
She needs a man
Not a selfish boy
Be considerate
Don't steal her joy
Enjoy your wife
And forsake all others
Get much advice
From spiritual brothers
It’s time for you
To swallow your pride
And give your best
To your beautiful bride

MALE INSIGHT

My incredible Sisters
May I please have a word
I wanted to address
Things I've seen and heard
This is for the Marrieds
So it's meant for the wives
Those wonderful gifts
God placed in our lives
========================
Most men are simple
And easy to dissect
We want your love
But crave your respect
We'll make mistakes
But please let us lead
Don't make us guess
Just say what you need
Let us protect
When danger is near
Be very attentive
Lend us your ear
When times get tough
We do what we can
Don't criticize
Be our number one fan
When you get angry
When we've done wrong
You hold back sex
Sometimes too long
We feel insecure
When you say "no"
We have our needs
So where do we go
Some to the internet
Some to a bar
Although we're Christians
Some take it too far
Disrespect and rejection
Make us very weak
We're bred to be tough
So it's difficult to speak
We can't articulate
Exactly how we feel
But please believe
The pain is real
This point is critical
Here's where things break
We believe Satan's lies
And make the ultimate mistake
We have an affair
Either physical or mental
Satan's been scheming
So it's not coincidental
That woman at work
Gives us special attention
We don't confess
It's not something we mention
We're flattered at first
But now it's too late
Either mentally or physically
We take her on a date
All is not lost
But there's certainly real trouble
Your strong foundation
Could be reduced to rubble
Are you at fault
For his regrettable sin
You were Satan's pawn
But it was his decision
Men are pretty simple
So sisters be aware
The simplest thing
Could lead to an affair
Rejection is a killer
Disrespect is too
Eliminate them both
Save your husband...and you
This surely isn't true
In every situation
But divorce is a problem
Too common in our nation
Marriage is tough
"God first" is the key
This poem just offers insight
To what a woman might not see
